LA PUENTE, CA (SEPTEMBER 2009) Encore Electronics®, a leader in affordable wireless and wired Ethernet networking solutions for small businesses and homes, now offers consumers a way to control multiple computers with a single set of USB or PS/2 keyboard, mouse and monitors with their new KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) Switch Series. -- Encore’s KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) Switch Series.

Most people prefer to use a full-size KVM at home and at work. Now, with Encore’s KVM Switch Series, users can use the full-size KVM of a desktop computer to control another notebook computer at the same time. Users may also share a KVM between a newer, more powerful desktop computer and an older desktop computer, saving extra cables and desktop space that a second set of KVM would take. The older computer can be used to download files and play music, while the newer computer is assigned with resource-demanding works, such as editing videos and burning DVDs.

Encore’s KVM Switch Series supports most operating systems, so owners with both a PC and a Mac® can enjoy the seamless coupling of technologies and usage Encore’s KVM Switches have to offer.

Two cost saving benefits are offered by using Encore’s KVM Switch Series. This series eliminates the need to buy a second set of KVM, allowing for a savings of at least $100. It also extends the useful life of an older machine. Additionally, KVM switches allow advance computer users to multitask more efficiently, when the computing power of single computer is not enough.

“We provide USB or PS/2 KVM Switch with Cables to help consumers save cost and increase productivity,” said Kai Huang, marketing manager at Encore Electronics. “Our KVM switches are about the size of a mobile phone, opening up more desktop space. Users can mix and match the two connected computers with different operation system based on their needs and work more efficiently.”

Encore’s KVM Switch Series integrate two sets of 1.2m (about 4ft.) KVM cables, so users do not need to purchase additional cables. Switching between two computers is done through pressing Hot Key combinations from the keyboard, so the KWM switch can be hidden under the desktop. Moreover, with advanced emulation technology, users no longer need to suffer the system failure problem when rebooting the connected computers.

ENKVM-USB allows users to share a set of USB KVM with two computers with USB ports. The MSRP is $39.99.

ENKVM-PS/2 allows user to share a set PS/2 KVM with two computers with PS/2 ports. The MSRP is $29.99.

Both products are available immediately from Encore Electronics’ retail, ecommerce and distribution partners.
