Overview

Encore Wireless LAN Extender is a multifunctional wireless device. It functions in three modes: Extender*, Access Point and Access Point Client. The Extender mode offers a simple and cost-effective way to expand the coverage area of your current 802.11b/g wireless network.

Extender Mode
Place the ENRXWI-G Wireless LAN Extender within the range of your current wireless network. Subsequently, ENRXWI-G can pick-up a signal from the wireless router (or access point) and transfer the signal further away than the original coverage area. You have thus effectively extended your wireless network without wiring or complicated configuration. Also, you can improve the reception at dead spots, areas characterized by poor signal quality, by placing ENRXWI-G between the dead spots and the wireless router.

Access Point Mode
Connect the ENRXWI-G Wireless LAN Extender to your wired Ethernet router (using a RJ-45 cable). Configure ENRXWI-G accordingly. Now, you have just upgraded your old wired router into an 802.11g wireless router.

Access Point Client Mode
Connect ENRXWI-G Wireless LAN Extender to the Ethernet port of you desktop or laptop computer (using a RJ-45 cable). Configure ENRXWI-G accordingly. Now, you can use it like a regular 802.11g wireless adapter enabling your computer to access wireless network.

Use the ENRXWI-G Wireless LAN Extender in Extender Mode, to increase your wireless coverage over an extended area such as in a warehouse, multi-story house and public space. You can also use it in wireless hot spot or outdoors where you always need additional coverage for your wireless network. Encore Wireless LAN Extender operates both in 802.11b and 802.11g standards. For your protection and convenience, the ENRXWI-G Wireless LAN Extender comes with strong security features such as WPA-PSK, WPA2 and web-based configuration utility.

*Some manufacturers use the term Repeater. Both Extender and Repeater mean the same thing.
